Leaked photos of iPad 3 logic board comes in a forum post on a Chinese website, WeiPhone. As you can see, the photo looks A5X system-on-a-chip.
In previous rumors, Apple is expected to release the latest generation iPad by providing upgrades to the processor and graphics. Speculation is growing as the processor is called the A6 since the previous release Apple iPad 2 and iPhone 4S with A5 processor, after the original iPad with the A4. But if the leaked photo is true, then Apple’s latest processor is not named A6 but A5X:
A date code is printed on the processor 1146 A5X indicated that the components were made at week 46 in 2011, or on 14-20 November 2011.
Other components that can be observed in the leaked photo iPad 3 logic board is a 16GB flash memory chips made by Hynix. There is also a rectangular chip with Apple log on it. The chip seems to be a power management chip, like the one on the iPad 2. The difference is visible in the photograph has a higher code number, an indication that it is an upgraded version of the chip on the iPad 2.
