5. Task Switching
Metro was not equipped with a screen taskbar, so you will be confused to see what applications are being run. To see it just press Alt + Tab. Pressing Win + Tab will let you move from one application to the next.
On the touch screen, swiping over and over from the left also displays what applications are being run. You can display any re-application being run.
When using the keyboard, press the Windows key repeatedly will move you from the Metro Screen and the last application is running. And vice versa.
If using the mouse, move the cursor far to the left and thumbnails of the final application will appear. Click to re-run and display it again.
6. Closing Time
Metro apps do not have a ‘Close’ button and it was intentional. The application will stop running when you switch to another application. Automatically be closed when the system requires more resources.
If you want to make the system clean, you must close any applications that are run manually. Press Ctrl + Alt + Esc to run Task Manager, right click on the intended application, and choose End Task.
7. How to Shut Down
To turn off the Metro system, display the Settings dialog (move your cursor to the lower left corner of the screen and click on Settings or press the Windows key, hold down and press I), click the Power icon, then Shut Down.
Or if the Desktop, you can press Alt + F4 and select Shut Down, Restart, Switch User or Log Off option.
