Microsoft: Who needs Blu-Ray?

Storage media format war with Blu-ray seems unfinished. Microsoft also assume that the media made by Sony was not long before going extinct.

Blu-ray, is one alternative to multimedia lovers to enjoy a movie or even game with the quality of High Definition (HD). Growth capacity is even more astonishing, even Sharp has set up a Blu-ray discs with a capacity of 100GB.

Therefore, Sony believes that Blu-ray is the medium most convenient to enjoy HD content, but not for Microsoft.

“People were already getting smarter, they can take intelligent decisions. And not long before Blu-ray will soon disappear,” said Stephen McGill, Director of Xbox and Microsoft’s Entertainment, as quoted by Cumaini from CVG, Thursday (23 / 9 / 2010).

McGill also assume that the user does not need the Blu-ray to enjoy HD content. “Many people who switch from DVD to digital media. And through the Xbox, we offer a streaming video 1080p without delay. If you have this, who needs Blu-ray?” he concluded.
